【摘要】:Thismethodisintendedtohelpmanufacturersdeterminetherelativepack-settendencyoftheircement(s).Thetestestablishesapack-setindexwhich,whenproperlycorrelatedwithfieldperformance,isusefulinpredictingorpreventingfieldunloadingdifficulties.Thetestisanaidtoroutinecontrolduringcementproductionandisnotsuitableforspecificationpurposes.Ingeneral,fieldperformanceofcementflowabilityissatisfactorywhenthepack-setindexasdeterminedonfreshlygroundcementaverages0to15andisunsatisfactorywhentheindexexceeds25.Anypredictionoffieldperformanceofcementflowabilitymeasuring16to25istenable.Thesearegeneralrangesandthefieldperformanceofindividualcementsmaynotnecessarilyfallwithintheseranges.Additionalconditions,afterthecementhasleftthecontrolofthemanufacturingfacility,canaffecttheapparentpacksetindexaswell.Anyattempttoapplythecriticalrangeofpack-setindexnumbersbasedonfreshlygroundcementtojobcementwithoutspecialtreatmentofthesamplewouldbeproblematic.Thetestisax201C;GO-NOGOx201D;typeoftestandshouldnotbeusedforspecificationpurposes.Thepack-setindexoffieldcementcanbeevaluatedintermsofthepack-setindexrangesofthatcementasdeterminedwhenfreshly-ground.Thiscomparisoncanaidthemanufacturerinproducingcementthatoffersthebestfieldperformanceforpack-setproperties.Silostorageofcementmayresultinagreateramountofconsolidationthanthismethodisdesignedtoinduce,andtheresultingforcesrequiredtoovercomethatconsolidationarenotmeasuredbythistestmethod.Packsetisnottobeconfusedwithx201C;warehousesetx201D;whichresultsfromsurfacehydrationofthecementfromadsorbedmoisture.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthepack-setindex,whichprovidesanindicationofthemechanicalforceneededtoovercometheconsolidationofportlandcement.1.2Thepack-setindexnumberprovidesanumericalvalueusefulformanufacturerswhodesiretomeasureandcontroltheeffectthatvibration-inducedconsolidationhasuponthemanufacturedcement.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.ValuesstatedinSIunitsshallbeobtainedbymeasurementinSIunitsorbyappropriateconversion,usingtherulesofConversionandroundinggiveninStandardIEEE/ASTMSI10,ofmeasurementsmadeinotherunits.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.(WARNINGx2014;Freshhydraulic-cementitiousmixturesarecausticandmaycausechemicalburnstoskinandtissueuponprolongedexposure.)
